Vest, Cardi, Leggings - Evans
Skirt - Me
Shoes - TUKs
Necklace - Next

Hey everyone! Haven't posted for a while, but I made this skirt today and thought I'd show it off here. My mum recently bought a lovely tweed tulip skirt from Next, and I so wanted it, but of course they didn't come in my size. So I decided to make my own. I got the tweed fabric from Ebay, in a colour that suits me (the one my mum got was brown mainly, which doesn't suit me anyway). It took about 4 hours for me to make, is unlined (because wool is pretty heavy/warm/opaque), and has a button and zipper closure at the back.

I probably wouldn't actually wear the knotted cardigan with this normally, but we are having our bathroom redone, and the new bath is blocking my wardrobe(I use a built in cupboard in the hall), so I had to make do with some clothes that were already in my room. Underneath is just a vest top, but I really hate my arms, so covering with the cardi had to be done. In future I will probably wear this skirt with a plain tshirt, tights and patent pumps, as opposed to the leggings, cardi and kitty shoes.

Hmmm...someone is looking mighty comfy hanging out where he doesn't belong. Thanks for putting your white tummy on my dark clothes, Hughey! (I have a stackable washer/dryer and had never seen any of the cats attempt to get in the dryer before. Apparently I left the door open and Hughey couldn't resist.)

basic question is basic
And will probably get me bricked XD

I've been trying to make sense of it for the last thirty-ish minutes, but... Yeah.

How would you ask "How many years older than you is your brother?"

I mean, I know "What's your age difference?", and maybe it's just the late hour and so my brain isn't working but I can't seem to word a sentence to properly express the idea of the one I said up there *points*

(Don't bother asking what horrible sentences I constructed in the past half-hour. XD)

I'm not sure if I qualify as fail or not, so I've decided to leave it up to the experts - *you guys*...

I've never read the book(s) or seen the movie(s).

My first encounter with Twilight was seeing a behind-the-scenes MTV look featurette on YouTube. "What is this? I don't even..." It looked like it was going to be a TV movie.

I was intrigued by the story, and by the third trailer I even wanted to give it a look - until I read more about the story and saw actual promo clips and I thought "My god, this is dumb."

So, let's break it down...

What I Like:
1) the Story Itself: the idea of Bella and Edward retains that old "Beauty and the Beast" feel, which I love.
2) Girl Power - a multi-million dollar book/movie franchise written by a woman, (the first movie) directed by a woman, with the main character a woman - this is rare and it's (somewhat) a good thing. Old Hollywood White Male Blowhards? Suck it.
3) "Decode" by Paramore, on the Twilight soundtrack.
4) Despite never reading/seeing the book/movie, I want Alice Cullen's hair.

What I DON'T Like:
1) To be fair, I haven't read the books, but I've caught some fans quoting their favorite passages from the books...and...seriously? If those are the "best" quotes? That's fucking AWFUL. It feels like bad fan fiction. It makes me NOT want to read the books at all.

2) One time, there was this guy in college who was the EPIC NERD. Like, walk around campus in a silver, metallic cape. Like, I thought *I* was a socially awkward dork. This guy anoyed the hell out of me because he would bitch about every little detail in fandom - he hated both Buffy and Underworld, because "vampires shouldn't be killed by UV bullets" and "vampires shouldn't turn into dust when they get staked". The reason I'm mentioning this is because I don't want to flail about how vampires shouldn't be one way or the other, because I feel that stifles creativity...THAT BEING SAID, I would be able to forgive VAMPIRES SPARKLING as long as there was A LOGICAL, LEGITIMATE EXPLAINATION & REASONING FOR IT. I've searched the wikis, I've yet to find one. This annoys me. That goes double for all the other plot holes and contradictions I've read about in this series.

3) There's also the FAIL side to the Girl Power factor: the main character never branches out on her own, spends some time living independently and finding herself - it's all about being devoted to the men in her life and they to her, and the fact that she always needs someone to rescue her every 5 freaking minutes. There's also the inexplicable devotion she has to a boyfriend who isn't that great to begin with and treats her (from what I've read) like crap. I've even read about Edward retaining control over who Bella can and can't see in her spare time. WTF?

4) Obviously, unless to incur the wrath of fangirls, the movies can't stray too far from the books, so the movies really aren't any better. The nauseating blue tint of the first movie, and the cheesiness of the second - i haz barf nao?

Fans will argue that I'm judging a book by it's cover, so to speak, but my fail radar keeps going off like crazy any time I go near this franchise.

Dealing with fandom fails in the past, I say better safe than sorry and steer clear.

I do like this community, however.

http://www.oprah.com/article/oprahshow/20091111-tows-charla-nash-chimp/

TL;DR

A woman has a pet chimp. Her friend tells her - The chimp is dangerous. At one point the chimp ripped out a chunk of hair from the friend, and the owner did nothing.

Chimp gets out, woman calls her friend for help...

Chimp SERIOUSLY maims the woman's friend. The friend is missing hands, most of her face and it's just.... horrible. Seriously, horrible. (Warning: The link contains fairly graphic images of woman's injuries)

It finally has happened. Sophie and Mishka are playing. They were playing some last week, but it was still Sophie being all hissy. Now they are wrestling. lol I caught some of the action this morning while they were rolling around on the papasan chair. Enjoy.

So for those following the history of this lunatic, she's been caught out in a flat out lie. Do you guys remember how she stated Bosco attacked her face and landed her in the ER? Well today she posted in a horse community I am a part of, posting pictures of her trollish self on the poor horse that is doomed.... check out her face and tell me this is someone who has been bitten by a dog and ended up in an ER. Granted she hit every branch on the ugly tree when she fell from it.... but that's another issue. She's also quite open about the fact the horse has little training but instead of taking a few steps backwards and putting in the effort to retrain this poor mare, she's shoved a harsh bit in her mouth, and says she will 'look into' trainers as soon as she can wean the foal. *HEAD DESK*

Oh and for those who don't know horses, she has a bit in that poor horses mouth which is really quite severe and should only be used by experts. Don't even get me STARTED on the damn saddle.
